Chasing American Monsters is here NOW

Chasing American Monsters: 251 Creatures, Cryptids, and Hairy Beasts is available now at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

Jason Offutt’s newest book, “Chasing American Monsters: 251 Creatures, Cryptids, and Hairy Beasts,” is finally out. Featuring legendary, and some little known, monsters from each state, “Chasing American Monsters” is filled with creatures that lurk, slither, run or fly through our nightmares.

Loren Coleman, author of Cryptozoology A to Z and director of the International Cryptozoology Museum, says, “Jason Offutt does a special service to the field of cryptozoology with this new book Chasing American Monsters. By keeping all of us up-to-date and incredibly informed—beyond the scope of lesser guidebooks—we have a better head start on knowing where to look for these cryptids. Highly recommended.”

The book is published by Llewellyn Publications.

Enjoy!

  1. Hi Jason! Was on amazon searching for Bigfoot books for my 9yr old son for Christmas. Something about your dedication to your Mom in this book really struck a chord with me! Hilarious! I’ll be getting this book for my budding cryptozoologist for sure!

    1. Thanks, Samantha. I’m so happy you enjoy my book. It was fun to research and write. And about the were-otter, I don’t blame them for being afraid of Charlie Sheen.

  3. Hello Jason,
I made a discovery of a 700ft mountain that has 8 figures and faces depicting a storyline and timeline of evolution. The complete mountain is used to show all figures and faces. I have been working with a digital artist for the last two years rendering each figure out. She has been highlighted on the ancient alien show twice, and she has completed this project to bring this mountain back to life. We have just completed a coffeetable book on the rendering of the mountain. I would be very appreciative if you can tell me who I can contact with this unusual historic discovery. The figures and faces are first amphibian, brontosaurus, ape face, pteridactyl, alien grey, ero asian face, peracuss longhead face, indigenous indian face. These faces and figures have been hidden by sun, shadows, and angle, what should I do with this discovery? It is huge. Steve

    1. Hey, Steve,
This sounds amazing. I’d contact a local university. They’d probably jump at the chance to check this out. Do you have pictures? If so, before alerting the university, I’d send the photos in to Coast to Coast to get it in front of as many people as possible.
      Jason

  4. Hi! I got my partner this book for their birthday and they’re loving it so far! They also were asking about who the illustrator for it is. Would you be able to tell us so we can give them proper respect as well? Thank you!

    Best,
    Emory
